I like to eat. A lot. Food is bae. So I figured I would post little reviews of the places I go, to give you a little insight and maybe some ideas on where you might want to nom with your friends or special someones. Plus it gives me an excuse to pig out on Seattle's best eats and not feel bad about it, because work! Before we start though, I want to make one thing perfectly clear, I am NOT a professional food nerd, nor do I want to be. I dont know the intricacies of French cooking. Heck, I dont even know how to spell "intricacies." It also means that if you ask me what the best burger is, I'll probably say Lil Woody's before I suggest any kind of "gourmet" burger, unless that gourmet burger has an egg on it. Then gourmet burger wins (any burger with an egg on it wins really.) Also, my idea of a fancy pizza is anything with more than 2 toppings. Basically what I'm getting at is consider these restaurant reviews for the comman man/woman. Got it? Good, let's roll!!!

Im going to do this blog a little bit differently, because BBQ is really hard to judge, and Drunky's is a unique place to say the least.  I mean, the first thing you see when you get there is a gigantic stack of logs being chopped for use in the smokers. I don't know if I've ever been to a place that raised my expectations on my mean before even walking through the door. Well played!

And then you walk in the door and it gets even better!  The vibe is somewhere between road house and cabin in the woods.  I'm told there's a creepy clown bathroom as well, but thankfully I managed to not break the seal, even after 2 heavy handed bourbon drinks.

On to the important part...the food!  I decided to go for the pork ribs and a hot link, with a side of baked beans.  Whenever I go to a BBQ spot for the first time, I ALWAYS order a hot link, because ribs and sauces and rubs come in all shapes and sizes, but a hot link should meet your expectations every time .  I'm happy to report not only does Drunky's hot link meet expectation, but it surpasses it!  Great snap, and great flavor! For me the spice was right on the money, but I'd be willing to bet there are a few people who would say it was a little too hot. The ribs were also great, I mean, look at that smoke ring! While they were cooked to perfection, the rub could have used a bit more punch, and the sauce was good but not great. Next time I'll be trying the spicy for sure.  I also sampled the brisket, which was thick cut (yes please) and not dried out at all, which is a crime committed way too much at way too many BBQ joints.  Drunky's also offers burnt ends, and I am still kicking myself over not snagging some of those as well, since burnt ends, if done right, are absolutely incredible!

Judging a BBQ place is incredibly difficult because its such a personal food experience. Some people want sloppy racks of ribs, while others want Carolina style mustard sauce. For me, Drunky's Two Shoes hits all the right notes.  I was extremely impressed with their brisket, which I'm super picky about, and their hot link is the best I've had in Seattle so far.  I'd love to see a little more variety with their sides (collard greens PLEASE!), and I think they are SLIGHTLY overprices relative to the amount of food you would get at other rib joints. That said, you do get what you pay for, and the quality of meat and whoever does their smoking deserves high praise.  I have no problem recommending Drunky's to anyone looking for a good meal....just watch out for that bathroom.  Concerning, to say the least!

On a scale of 1-5 hot links, Drunky's Two Shoes gets a SOLID 3.75 hot links. Go there, and please tell me how the burnt ends were. I NEED TO KNOW!!!
