Top 5 songs for Bourbon and Bacon Fest 2016!

We know how to get you in the mood for some Bourbon

March 1, 2016

We are counting down the days until we get to fill our bellies with boozy bourbon and greased up, crumpled, wrapped and wrinkled bacon goodies this Saturday at Bourbon and Bacon Fest.

Not that we need any more reason to get amped up before Saturday's festivities, but in case you aren't on our level, here are a few of our favorite songs about bourbon (and let's face it, drinking in general) to get you properly equipped for all the brown liquor available this weekend.

We'd say "let us know what we missed in the comments," but we know you take your drinking songs seriously and probably don't need to say anything at all.

(BTW, tickets are still available at

5. Start Wearing Purple - Gogol Bordello

Alright. We get it. This song isn't about drinking bourbon. It isn't even about eating bacon for that matter. But we have a pretty good idea that Gogol Bordello appreciates both bourbon AND bacon and the video looks like the best party we've never been to. Anyway, number five is a good spot to put a song that isn't about drinking on a list of songs about drinking.

4. Drunk Girls - LCD Soundsystem

"DRUNK GIRLS like to eat bunches of bacon! DRUNK BOYS also like to eat bacon!" No, those aren't the lyrics...but they should be.

3. Brass Monkey - Beastie Boys

Again, maybe this song isn't about bourbon, but bourbon and malt liquor-lovers alike can get behind the Beastie Boys right (make sure to pour one out this weekend for MCA)? Brass Monkey was, is, and always will be the jam.

2. Streams of Whiskey - The Pogues

When your lyrics are "I am going where streams of Whiskey are flowing," you are probably talking about Seattle Design Center and you probably mean to be going there on March 5. Although a classic by the Irish band, we wouldn't mind using 'Streams of Whiskey' and 'Mountains of Bacon' interchangeably.

1. S.O.B. - Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats

Will Nathaniel Rateliff or The Night Sweats be at Bourbon and Bacon Fest this Saturday? Probably not. Does Bourbon and Bacon Fest seem like the type of event designed specifically for this band and is bourbon this band's spirit animal? Almost definitely, probably.

Make sure to get your tickets for Bourban and Bacon Fest while they're still hot and greasy at
