Where to party New Year's Eve in Seattle
Now that you are done stressing about all of the gifts you need to buy and wrap, you now need plans for New Year's Eve.
I know that making plans can be a little overwhelming at times. You probably have a list of house parties you can choose from but then you get stressed trying to decide where to go and instead you end up just staying home and watching The O.A. on Netflix. Yeah, it's a great show, but we can't let that be how you spend NYE.
So here are a few of the best shows happening around town featuring some of our favorite Locals Only bands:
Thunderpussy, Porter Ray, J GRGRY - Neumos
The hottest ticket for New Years Eve in Seattle is likely to be Thunderpussy. After a monster 2016 that saw Thunderpussy playing the main stage at Sasquatch! and the Capitol Hill Block Party, they will be closing out the year with a great lineup at Neumos. They will be joined by Subpop artist Porter Ray and J GRGRY who have become one of our new favorite artists on Locals Only. This lineup has plenty of range.
Bread & Butter, Great Spiders, The Head Band - The Sunset Tavern
Bread and Butter have become favorites on Locals Only lately and it seems like every guest who comes by the show mentions Great Spiders. They are going to be playing a very cool show at The Sunset Tavern with The Head Band.
I Will Keep Your Ghost, GEMS, Zoolab, Neu Yeuth - The Central Saloon
2016 felt like the year that the folks at The Central Saloon turned some heads with their ability to book some great shows. New Years isn't any different. Start 2017 with a healthy dose of electronica from I Will Keep Your Ghost, GEMS, Zoolab and Neu Yeuth.
Beat Connection, Manatee Commune, Tangerine - Wild Buffalo *Bellingham*
Yes, I know that this show isn't in Seattle. But it might be the best lineup around on New Years and who doesn't love Bellingham? Beat Connection sold out The Showbox a couple of months back. Manatee Commune sold out The Neptune Theatre last week. Tangerine played Summer Camp this year. So, if you are looking for a killer show on NYE and don't mind the trek north, do this.
