SXSW: Go to Austin if you're looking for a drummer for your band

Breakfast tacos. Always a good idea

Breakfast beers. Never a good idea

SXSW Day 1 Recap

First band of the day was Lo Moon. They played at the YouTube house (shout outs to Andrew Ginn of Seattle band Colorworks), I can only imagine how mental that place is going to be tomorrow night when Migos plays. Really cool venue, though. And wow, so loud.

You know I keep my shoe game strong, but walking around in boots all day is probably going to hurt.

Major shout outs to Dude York. I ran into them in the middle of the street while both of us were in between hustles. Happy to say they are as cool in person as they are on stage.

Took a shuttle to see Missio. Missio didn't play. <Insert "middle fingers" punchline here>

You know you're at a fancy dinner when the menu is personalized and has your name on it.

Chicano Batman. Amazing!

If you need a drummer, you should come to SXSW. There are no less than 1700 of them playing on just about every street corner here.

Spoon closed the night and it's seems like the entire record industry was there. All they played were hits, it was really a special performance and a perfect way to end the night.

My ceiling started making weird noises last night. I should probably have that looked at?

Who I saw: Lo Moon, Skott, Dude York (in the street), Chicano Batman, Ho99o9, Spoon

Noms: 13-course fancy Japanese/Texan dinner. That sounds really strange, and it kind of is, but it's REALLY good

Da Real MVP: Our bus driver. This sassy little lady was cracking jokes and breaking traffic laws all over Austin to make sure we got where we needed to go. Lady you're scaring us!
