#sEATtle: Butcher's Table

I like to eat. A lot. Food is bae. Therefore, I figured I would post reviews of the places I go to give you a little insight and maybe some ideas on where you might want to nom with your friends or special someones. Plus, it gives me an excuse to pig out on Seattle's best eats and not feel bad about it, because work!

Before we start, though, I want to make one thing perfectly clear, I am NOT a professional food nerd, nor do I want to be. I don't know the intricacies of French cooking. Heck, I don't even know how to spell "intricacies." It also means that if you ask me what the best burger is, I'll probably say Lil Woody's before I suggest any kind of "gourmet" burger, unless that gourmet burger has an egg on it. Then gourmet burger wins (any burger with an egg on it wins really.) Also, my idea of a fancy pizza is anything with more than two toppings. Basically what I'm getting at is consider these restaurant reviews for the common man/woman.

Got it? Good, let's roll!

Seattle's steak game is STRONG, you guys.  Tons of options, and a lot of the beef is grown right here in WA and of the highest quality. I had a friend in town a few weeks ago who had two requests, one was that he got to see water (he lives in the desert of Arizona so that makes sense) and the other was to go big and pig out at a great steakhouse.  This gave me the perfect excuse to check out the Butcher's Table, a place that almost all my food nerd friends had been raving about.  Commense with the food porn and meat sweats.....kinky.

EATS

Oysters- Shigokus to be exact.  Probably my favorite kind.  These were pretty great, although I'm always a little nervous to eat them out of season.

Broccoli- Listen, there's nothign sexy about broccoli, I get it. BUT you gotta eat your greens...especially when you are about to cram a few lbs of beef in your colon.

Twice baked potatos- We were told that the beef fat fries were the way to go as far as potato options, and that was probably the right choice, but I have a thing for the twice baked preparation so I decided to go with this.  Definitely very good, but not next level.

Center cut ribeye steak- The moneymaker!  This is what you go to the Butcher's Table for.  At the BT, steaks come in 3 different grades, and explaining them technically would be boring so lets just say they you can order your meat "Next level" level. "OMG" level, or "This is %#^&ing insane" level.  I went with OMG level, but was tempted to do a flight of them just to taste the difference in quality.  Yeah, thats right, you can order flights of steak at this place.  ARE YOU KIDDING ME?  My steak was mouth watering, perfectly cooked.  I'm getting emotional just thinking about it.

When people think Seattle, they think seafood, but for those of us that live here, we know that while there are plenty of great spots for salmon and shellfish our real specialty is superior steaks, thanks to all the amazing local farms in the surrounding areas. The Butcher's Table should absolutely be on your list of must tries. Get the frites, and spend the money on a flight of steaks. It will be well worth it!

Go here if... You want a case of the meat sweats and are HUNGRY.

Don't go here if... you are just in the mood for something light.
