Dave Grohl has hand-picked the best festival of 2017

June 20, 2017

On top of announcing a new Foo Fighters album due out in September (Concrete and Gold | September 15 via Roswell Records and RCA Records ), and a massive tour that stops in Spokane of all places, Dave Grohl and the Foos have curated a mini-festival that might be the best of 2017.

Unlike most festivals, the artists at this one were hand-picked by Grohl and it won't feature a rave tent.

The Foo Festival (OK, it's actually called CAL JAM) takes place in San Bernadino at Glen Helen Regional Park on October 7. Grohl calls it his "backyard party for 50,000," but I don't remember the last backyard party I went to with carnival rides, a water park or an outdoor movie theater.

On top of that, the festival lineup is absolutely stacked from top to bottom. Foo Fighters will headline (obviously) with Queens of The Stone Age (who just announced a new album of their own), Cage The Elephant, Liam Gallagher, The Kills, Royal Blood, Japandroids and the list goes on and on.

Tucked all the way down at the end there is White Reaper who Manley has been giving praise since he saw them at SXSW last year.

Tickets for CAL JAM go on sale June 29th at 10:00 a.m.

Would you make the trip down for that kind of festival?
