On the 12th Day of Deckmas, my true love gave to me...

12 dope cocktail recipes that even the worst people at your holiday dinners might shut up to try.

With only 12 days until Deck the Hall Ball 2016, let's kick off the countdown with these 12 recipes:

1. The Cranberry Moscow Mule (with rosemary infusion)
Yes, you can make any normal cocktail a "holiday" cocktail by adding cranberry, in case you were wondering. Why? Well, cranberries  grow on top of cold water and water gets cold in the winter. SCIENCE!

Ingredients:

  • 1.5 oz. of cranberry juice
  • 3/4 cup of ginger beer
  • 2 cups of vodka
  • 3 sprigs of rosemary
  • Ice

Directions:

  1. Add the rosemary to the vodka and let sit for 1-2 days
  2. After infused, add 1.5 oz. of infused vodka to copper mug with crushed ice, cranberry juice and ginger beer!
  3. Boom. A classy af Moscow Mule you can say was "hand-crafted" to make sure your family knows you're hipster as hell.

2. Rainier Beer Nog
Ok, so you can make this with any beer and this isn't technically a cocktail. In fact, Rainier might not be the best beer for this drink. But, you are in Seattle and this is the most iconic thing you could drink over the PNW holidays.

Ingredients:

  • Egg Nog
  • Nutmeg (if you're crafty)
  • Rainier beer
  • 1/2 oz. of bourbon or dark rum

Directions:

  1. Pour all the ingredients in a glass
  2. Drink it, dummy
  3. Take it to the next level and turn on some local music and compete with all your friends about who is the most "Seattle" of your group

• • •

3. Bourbon & Maple Apple Cider
You had me at bourbon. Then at Maple. Then again at Apple Cider.

Ingredients:

  • 6 oz. bourbon
  • 4 tsp. of lemon juice
  • 4-6 tsp. of maple syrup (more if you're reading this in Canada)
  • 1 cup of apple cider
  • Ice

Directions:

  1. Fill your cocktail shaker with ice, bourbon, lemon juice, syrup and cider
  2. Shake. Like, a lot.
  3. Fill a couple glasses with ice
  4. Strain the mix into glasses and enjoy it while you try to make your sister's boyfriend who is meeting the family for the first time feel really uncomfortable.

• • •

4. Pumpkin Spice White Russian
I absolutely despise pumpkin spice, pumpkin pie, and pretty much all pumpkin-flavored things. Here's why.  However, I realize that I may be in the minority, so here is your ONE cocktail on the list, because I am a gracious God.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 tsp pumpkin spice (sick face emoji)
  • 1 oz. heavy cream
  • 2 oz. vodka
  • 1 oz. coffee liqueur (I can get behind some Kahlua)
  • Whipped cream

Directions:

  1. Shake together the cream and spice
  2. Fill a glass with ice and all the adult beverages
  3. Pour in the cream
  4. Enjoy it alone because no way in hell am I coming over to make this nasty cocktail with you

5. Kahlua Hot Chocolate
Just reading "Kahlua Hot Chocolate" makes you feel nice and cozy doesn't it? If you're like me, you'll probably just mix some powdered chocolate in some hot water and add the drinky, but if you want to get fancy with it...

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 tbsp. sugar
  • 1.5 tbsp.unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 tsp. cinnamon
  • A little nutmeg (that's the scientific measurement, ok?)
  • 1 oz. coffee liqueur (mmmm, Kahlua)
  • Mini marshmallows
  • Chocolate syrup

Directions:

  1. Mix everything but the Kahlua, marshmallows and chocolate syrup in a saucepan, heating it for a couple minutes (just enough to be heated throughout)
  2. Remove from the stove and stir in your Kahlua
  3. Throw it in the mugs, pop on Elf, and try not to get too hyped on sugar. You still got dessert, homie.

6. Hot Buttered Rum
Not enough people drink hot buttered rum anymore. That's because hot buttered sounds like something you would find on Urban Dictionary to be...less than appropriate. One second, let me look it up...Yep.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups of water
  • 1/2 stick of butter
  • 1/4 cup of brown sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp grated nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp ground cloves
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • 2/3 cup dark rum

Directions:

  1. Boil a mixture of water, butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and salt in a saucepan.
  2. Bring the heat down and whisk it occasionally over the next 10 minutes.
  3. Take it off the stove, stir in the rum, start talking like a pirate or a character from Harry Potter. Start watching Harry Potter. Go to Orlando to Harry Potter World or whatever it's called. Become Harry Potter. Defeat Voldemort. Get fat with your best friend's sister.

7. Gingerbread Martini
While all your cute couple friends make their terrible gingerbread houses together, sit back in the corner with your own "gingerbread house" while you watch theirs ultimately fall. "Hey Branden, want to come help us with the Twizzler patio?" No. Not even a little bit.

Ingredients:

  • 4 oz. Irish cream liqueur
  • 4 oz. vodka
  • 2 oz. coffee liqueur (I really like Kahlua, ok?)
  • 2 oz. Gingerbread Syrup
  • 2 scoops vanilla ice cream
  • Whipped cream
  • Small handful of your friend's gingerbread house that you crushed up (or just regular crushed up cookies)

Directions:

  1. Add everything into a shaker with ice and shaaaaaake iiiiiiiit uuuuuuuup.
  2. Pour the mixture into a martini glass (or a normal person glass) and top with whipped cream and cookie crumbs.
  3. Be the "fun friend" at the gingerbread house-making party.

8. The Peppermintini
On second thought, after reading "Peppermintini" out loud, I have decided that you will sound really silly when you say it when someone asks you, "Oh, what is that fun drink you have?"

Do not make this drink. I am saving your social life.
