Holiday Cookie Recipes Your Office Will Go Bonkers Over

they're deeeeelicious!

It's the most evil time of the year!

It's the season when your coworkers go into full elf mode and bake and bake and bake and bring in all the festive, delicious treats for you to eat and then feel bad about. Yes, I am one of those people that enjoys baking for others, so, deal with it Manley.

Here are three of my favorite holiday cookies and one new favorite I discovered this year :) Feel free to steal them all and share the wealth. Tis the season!

Anisette Cookies
Let's start with the batch I just made over the weekend  

They are traditional Italian cookies full of licorice flavor! For those who don't LOVE the flavor of licorice, do not be alarmed, I am not a fan of licorice myself. The anise flavor smells more potent than it tastes.

What you need: 1 Cup sugar // 1 Cup Butter (softened) // 6 Eggs // 6.5 Tspns Baking Powder // 1 Tspn Vanilla // 1 Tspn anise extract // 2 TBsp orange juice //
3.5 - 4 cups flour

What to do:  Cream sugar & butter well with mixer. Then beat in eggs one at a time until well blended. Next, add vanilla, anise extract, and OJ along with baking powder. When the batter gets a little bubbly, add flour one cup at a time. Batter will be sticky and moist. I used brand new cookie sheets and did not grease them with anything. You may need to with a little butter or cooking spray. 

Next, rub some flour on your hands and roll a tablespoon of batter lightly into a ball. Place on cookie sheet an inch or so apart as they will expand. // Bake at 350 for
10-12 minutes or until bottoms are lightly browned. Let cookies cool completely before icing them.

Icing: In a separate bowl mix a half of a box of powdered sugar, 2 Tspns anise extract, and about 1/4 cup of milk. (I used 2%) It shouldn't be too, too thick so add as much milk as it takes to thin out. After that's done, dip the top of cookies into the icing and top with sprinkles. I used festive red and green. To speed up the process, one person can dip and the other sprinkle :) Makes at least 4 dozen cookies. Store in a sealed container. These were a hit at the office this year!

My ultimate favorite cookie to make this time of year is the chocolate snowball. They're chocolatey, fudgy and delicious!

What you need: Half cup oil // 4 oz. unsweetened, melted chocolate // 1 3/4 cup sugar // 4 eggs // 2 tsp. vanilla // 2 cups flour // 2 tsp. baking powder // 1/2 tsp salt and
1 cup confectionary sugar

What to do:  Mix oil, chocolate, and sugar together. Blend in one egg at a time and mix well. Next, add vanilla, then all the dry ingredients except the confectionary sugar. Chill in a bowl overnight. Drop rounded half teaspoons of chocolate dough into confectionary sugar. Gently roll into balls with powdered fingers. Really cover them good with the powdered sugar as some of it will bake off. Place on cookie sheet 2 inches apart. Bake at 350 for about 8 minutes. (No more than 10 minutes). Let cool for 5 minutes before lifting from sheet. Store in sealed container.

This year was the first time I made Cannoli cookies, and this won't be the last! Oh. my. goodness. They were so good and easy to make! I found the recipe on Facebook, of all places. My coworkers loved hte flavor and commented on how "light and airy" they were.
