Live music, great food and fun raffle items, Pawpalooza is one event you won’t want to miss! Proceeds and donated pet items will go to Kitsap Humane Society, the Humane Society of Tacoma and Pierce County and the Fish Food Bank of Gig Harbor. The benefit is at Bed, Bark and Beyond on Fox Island (135 Island Blvd), from Noon to 8 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 8. Donations of pet food, treats, blankets, beds and toys are appreciated and will be distributed among the three charities.

Seattle Humane's 10th Annual Catapolooza is coming up Saturday, August 8th - Sunday, August 9th! There will be hundreds of adoptable cats & kittens with no fee for the first 25 Seattle Humane kitten adoptions each day! Other adoption discounts include one Seattle Humane kitten for $50 or two kittens for $90 (normally $125 each). Plus, there is no adoption fee for any Seattle Humane cat 1 year and up. There will also be ten other participating animal shelters & organizations, kids crafts, face painting, cat behavior experts, demonstrations and workshops, games, and more!

Coming July 2015: Cartel Land follows two vigilante groups in current times, as they battle the Mexican drug cartels. From executive producer Kathryn Bigelow, of The Hurt Locker and Zero Dark Thirty, Cartel Land is a haunting story about the variations of grey beetween the good and bad of the world. The first annual Sausage and Cider Fest will debut on Saturday, August 22nd from 4-8 p.m. at Covington Community Park. Hard cider and sausage lovers will sip on ciders and snack on different styles of sausage from around the northwest. Adding to the festivities will be live music and a variety of lawn games like corn hole, croquet and badminton. The festival is a fundraiser for the Covington Kiwanis Club and an effort to spotlight this southeast King County city, with the city of Covington’s support and sponsorship. The Evergreen State Fairgrounds hosts the annual 12-day Evergreen State Fair every August through Labor Day. The Fair is one of the largest events held annually in the Pacific Northwest and is the largest single attraction held in Snohomish County. SUBWAY® restaurants are partnering with the Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission to launch Walk in the Park for the third year in a row. Now through September 30, anyone who shows a Discover Pass at a participating SUBWAY® restaurant throughout Washington State will receive a voucher good for a free six-inch sandwich with the purchase of a six-inch sandwich of equal or greater price and a 30 oz. drink. Vouchers will also be available at parks in the participating counties when staff is available.
