What do you want Seattle to accomplish in 2014?

Feb 13th | categories: History, Local

Last year we kind of peaked as a city. What with Macklemore blowing up and winning all the awards and of course, our beloved Seahawks dominating the Super Bowl. We elected a gay mayor, a socialist city council member, oh and we legalized marijuana. How the hell are we supposed to top all of that?! Maybe 2014 is the year we'll get to bring the NBA back to town, or better yet, get a brand new NHL team! Soundgarden's playing Sasquatch... maybe Chris will call Eddie and we'll get a little Temple of the Dog reunion!? 2014 will also mark the 20th anniversary of Kurt Cobain's death and we'll be celebrating both Kurt Cobain Day and Nirvana Day as a city, plus the band will be inducted into the Rock 'n Roll Hall of Fame! Hmmm, actually.. after I started thinking about it... 2014 might have a chance at kicking 2013's ass.

What do YOU want Seattle to accomplish this year? Here's a list if you need inspiration.

Most of those things didn't happen in 2013...

The Superbowl and Grammy's may have happened at the beginning of 2014 but they were FOR the previous year.

Legalization of pot happened in 2012. I'd also argue that macklemore exploded when his same love video made its way around the Internet during the ref 74 campaign in the summer of 2012.

Those things were still big in 2013, dude. Bigger in fact than they were in 2012.
