Weezer Debuted a New Song "Back to the Shack"

Feb 28th | categories: Music, Music News, Video

Weezer seems to realize that it went a little wide of the credibility mark they set so high in the 1990's. In May, the Blue Album will be 20 years old. Recent era Weezer features dance moves, collaboration with pop-rappers, and a general WTF vibe at moments. They're still great. They still rule in live performance, but someone must have woken Rivers up.

On their now yearly event, The Weezer Cruise, our favorite nerds debuted a new song "Back to the Shack". With lyrics like"I forgot that disco sucks", "maybe I should play the lead guitar, andPatshould play the drums", and "rocking out like '94", this feels like an earnest attempt to recapture their early essence. Does it feel right to you?

The band has been in the studio working on a new record with Ric Ocasek (The Cars) who previously guided them on the Blue Album and Green Album.

Rivers should go back to being a introverted insufferable a*$hole. The music was much better.
