WA Hippies Featured In Futurama

In the last year we found out that cartooning genius Matt Groening's upbringing in Oregon led the mockery that we know as the town of Springfield - the home of The Simpsons. Now his true PNW colors shine again as the amazing Redditor bwswims found a small detail in an episode of Groening's other super popular show, Futurama:



HAHAHA sweet dig! Did you go back and pause the clip to see the paperwork indicating the degree was from Evergreen State College?! It's the college that Groening attended and thus an easy target!

Matt Groening, the creator of Futurama, went to Evergreen State. That probably explains it.
