Last night during SNL, an unannounced, seemingly random spot featuring the words DAFT PUNK in shimmering silver and the duo's latest logo, took over televisions of the world for 15 seconds or so, including what's believed to be brand new music from the group. I don't have to tell you, but the sound is incredibly rooted in traditional disco with a departure from Daft's traditional reliance on electronics and compression. It's easy to make the assumption that's collaborator Nile Rodgers guitar out front. Other expected collaborators on the album include Giorgio Moroder, Paul Williams, and Chilly Gonzales. The album is due out sometime this year via Columbia with signs pointing to early spring. Have a listen for yourself below and then tell us on Facebook if it's got you worried or stoked out of your mind.
