Video: Cougar Fan Sucker-Punches Huskies Player

Nov 26th | categories: Video

Look. I've lived in Washington all my life, and it's never been a secret that the Apple Cup is not something residents of this place take lightly. A lot of pride comes from the ability to gloat all year long that "my team is better than your team and I did absolutely nothing to contribute to that!". This year, that prize goes to The Cougars who beat out UW fair and square. What wasn't awesome however, was the part when fans rushed the field and some random giant douche sucker punched Huskies tight end, Austin Suferian-Jenkins. Yes, the guy's team just lost, he's innocently walking off the field and at around the 45 yard line at the 13 second mark in the below video, a kid just nails him in the face and runs off. Austin took the high road tweeting-before-deleting "I prayed for the man that struck me. He must have some serious issues #praying4him". But really, congrats Cougar fan(s) you guys this makes you officially the worst! See the video below...

Husky nation was respectful after the loss, but when I heard about this, it really pissed me off. All I've heard from Coug fans is "The actions of one person can't generalize the behavior of all Wazzu fans." Well guess what...this isn't an isolated incident. Last year, countless Coug fans threw iceballs at our players and band including an injured player being carted off the field. They threw water bottles in another year. I went to the game this weekend and an old guy grabbed me by the shirt because I was wearing UW gear. There are videos of all the incidents above so until Coug fans post the vids of us being disrespectful, then quit saying it's a mutual conflict.
