Trent Reznor to Score New "Call of Duty" Video Game

Jul 10th | categories: Music, Music News

In the last couple of years, Trent Reznor has done a brilliant job re-defining his career from "band guy" to "soundtrack composer guy". His scores for "The Social Network" & "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo" have given his career a (needed) shot in the arm.

For the most part - his newest project will stay on this path, with only a slight deviation.

According to USA Today, Reznor has signed on to write and record a theme song for the upcoming video game "Call of Duty: Black Ops II" - which will be out on November 13th

When describing what he has come up with Reznor said it's got an “aggressively sounding” guitar

“There is a lot of reservation and angst and sense of loss and regret and anger bubbling under the surface,” “So it didn’t make sense to have a gung ho patriotic feeling kind of theme song. It has to feel weighty.”
Reznor also confirmed that new music from Nine Inch Nails will also happen but is likely a ways off.
