It's called The National Act of 2000 has now approved a total of 375 records. They select 25 records to preserve each year. To qualify the record must be at least 10 years-old and they are gathered through submissions, which I love to do, ya know, for kicks (www.loc.gov/nrpb/). Have at it. This year the National Recording Perservation Board selected The Ramones, Pink Floyd and Janis Joplin to name a few. Here is the full list:
