The National will play their High Violet cut "Sorrow" for 6 hours straight at MoMA PS1 in New York as part of an art instillation by Icelandic Artist Ragnar Kjartansson, appropriately titled "A Lot Of Sorrow".
The museum have released this explanation:
By stretching a single pop song into a day-long tour de force the artist continues his explorations into the potential of repetitive performance to produce sculptural presence within sound.
So there you have it. Attendees will be able to view the band live for "a few minutes at a time" but the full audio will be audible in the building's courtyard. The National's new album, "Trouble Will Find Me" is due out May 21st. Stream the track below...
