It's here! Today we get the trailer for Paranormal Activity 4 - the next edition of the "something goes bump in the night" horror franchise.
As usual - the premise is a simple one. Chronologically - this film returns to the present with a young family moving in next door to the evil/possessed Katie (from the original film).
For the cynical - the novelty of the first (and maybe second) has long worn off - HOWEVER, I'll admit that since the first movie - a group of close friends and I have seen each film at midnight on opening night and it has ALWAYS been a lot of fun. As with most horror movies - it's not as much about the quality of the movie as it is allowing yourself to get lost in it and get a good jolt every now and again.
It sure seems that as long as these films keep making truckloads of money (the last installment had a budget of $5 million and grossed over $104 million) - this is a tradition we'll be able to keep up for years to come
