So, You're In Seattle: Phillip Peterson

Jun 05th | categories: Interview, Local

*UPDATE*We'll learn about Phil below, but his band Tennis Pro have a film "Big In Japan" screening tonight (6/5) at the Egyptian for SIFF, and again on Saturday (6/7). The band are headed to Japan to prove they're successful somewhere. It's a scripted "documentary" sort of. Here's a clip:

Phil Peterson plays tons of music in Seattle and has done as much his whole life. From just a wee lad at the age of three, he began bowing acello and a life of classical music. In contrast, the dude expends his rock 'n roll energy playing in an indie/surf band, Tennis Pro.

After a lifetime playing music and more than a decade of rocking faces, Phil still has to make a living. Still yet he uses his musical abilities to bring in the day job monies: writing, arranging, and session cello-ing.

I love when a soft spoken person can blow my mind with passion for a skill, art, or love, and Phil did just that.
