Pearl Jam Plays Benefit Show for Montana Senator

Oct 02nd | categories: Music, Music News

Over the weekend Pearl Jam played their only US arena show in the (relatively) small Adams Center in Missoula, Montana. It was a benefit concert to raise money for re-election campaign of U.S. Senator Jon Tester.

Tester isn't just key to the Democrats bid to retain control of the Senate - he's a childhood friend of Pearl Jam bassist Jeff Ament - who spoke on Tester's behalf at a pre-show fundraiser:

"Some people have said that maybe a rock band and politics shouldn't meet,"

"I grew up with Jon and I can vouch for how much he cares for Montana, how much he cares for the country. I couldn't be prouder to be up here with the band."
