Music For Heavy Petting

Tricky has a new album, “False Idols” out on May 28th and, of course, a new song. I was surprised how much I enjoyed the new track, “Nothing's Changed” (available as a free download below) after his last two albums weren’t very enjoyable. And I don’t really feel bad saying that after the statement Tricky posted on his website:

'“I was lost for ages,” he says. “I was trying to prove something to people, trying to do something to please other people and also myself at the same time, which is never going to work. To be honest with you, I’ve been floating around … My last two albums [2008’s “Mixed Race and 2010’s “Knowle West Boy”], I thought there were good, but I realize now they weren’t. This album is about me finding myself again.”'



My favorite Tricky album is still “Blowback” and the work he did on that album with Ambersunshower, the Chili Pepper’s guys etc. This new song reminds of that album, which I listened to about 243 times until someone relieved me of it. I’m going to hit up iTunes and snag it now and await the release of “False Idols.”
