Locals Only Artist of the Month: I Will Keep Your Ghost
Seattle has long been a frontier town that attracts musicians who want to invent and reinvent – from Jimi Hendrix to Kurt Cobain to the next unnamed musical star. While the sound may change from decade to decade, the Northwest’s music scene is as vibrant as ever. And here at The End we feel it’s important to help put our homegrown talent in the forefront by giving you a taste of our cities musical richness.
Aaron Coughlin and Bryan Bradley met while working in a pawn shop. One day Bryan was fired and in a true Jerry Maquire moment of loyalty Aaron decided “to hell with this job” grabbed his jacket and followed Bryan out the door.
Shortly after that they began jamming in a garage together in Everett, WA and in 2010 they played their first show as I Will Keep Your Ghost at the Historic Everett Theater. After a few years of performing around the PNW with bands like Bear Hands, Deep Sea Diver, The Grizzled Mighty, KAIROS and more I Will Keep Your Ghost went into The Recovery Room Studios to record their debut EP “It’s Natural” which was released in December of 2013.
“It’s fair to say this five-track EP is a lot like the otherworldly, feelings-filled stuff you’re hearing on alternative radio (part Foals, part Alt-J, with a little bit of weird). Yet it’s unlike anything else being released in the Northwest, which is what makes it shine. An eclectic mix of spacey synths, fuzzy guitar, and hushed vocals,It’s Naturallays down a sound all its own.” –Keegan Prosser, Seattle Weekly.
