How far away can you get from a Starbucks?

Mar 19th | categories: Local, News

In Seattle, it's maybe a block. But there is one place in the U.S. where you can go and be a whopping 140 miles away from the nearest Starbucks. How the hell did someone figure that out!? An astronomy grad student who happens to love coffee, maps, and data put all the research together and found that the most "Starbucks Free Area" is in Wyoming's Grand Teton National Park. Of course it is, because no one actually lives in Wyoming. It's science. ;) Check out the map this guy made and watch him discuss how he made it, here.

For the past 4 years, I have go to school were Starbuck is basically nonexistent. Jamestown, North Dakota had to drive either to Bismarck or Fargo, both were 100 miles away. The closest one to me now is in Colby, KS which is 34 miles away. It's a flipping trip for coffee. Lucky, Denver is only 3 hours away. haha. Talk about being a deprived Seattleite
