End Music Discovery: SOLO Jack White - "Love Interruption"
Seemingly out of nowhere...the man with a thousand projects is about to release something that is all him.
Looks like 2012 will be the year Jack White puts out his first solo record. After playing in SO many great bands (White Stripes, Raconteurs, Dead Weather) fans have been clamoring for solo music from one of the most talented musicians on the planet and now it's seems as if their wish is coming true.
Here's the statement:
"We at Third Man Records are very excited and proud to announce, along with our partners Columbia and XL Recordings, Jack Whites’ debut album Blunderbuss to be released on April 23/24.
Produced by White and recorded at his own Third Man Studio in Nashville, Blunderbuss has been described by White as "an album I couldn't have released until now. I've put off making records under my own name for a long time but these songs feel like they could only be presented under my name. These songs were written from scratch, had nothing to do with anyone or anything else but my own expression, my own colors on my own canvas.""
We've even got our first listen.
You would expect the first song off a Jack White solo record to be a guitar heavy, minimalistic, southern blues inpsired rock masterpiece. Instead we see a more mellow, acoustic Jack White joined by a female musician he met when recording the Wanda Jackson record last year.
