End Music Discovery: Poolside - "Slowdown"

Chugging along like a 112 car freight engine of nu-disco, Poolside's "Slowdown" feels like a bit of a drag out of the gate before it becomes obvious that the pun is intended and the pacing is entirely deliberate. Positioned as the track where you get a chance to shift down on the dance floor and get a little closer to your partner, maybe have a chance to finally get their name, throw out your witty line or two and hope it sticks, we don't have much from this LA duo so far, but I can tell ya this sound is gonna fit in real nicely sandwiched between Lemonade and Friendly Fires, not to mention right behind Breakbot. If you dig it, make sure you check out Ultrasound Saturday nights from 9p-12a.
