End Music Discovery: Liars - "WIXIW"

Remember when other people started making better Radiohead records than Radiohead? Me too, cuz Liars just did it. Granted it's unfair to write them off as being anything less than original seeing as the noise they make is quite deliberate and far from derivative, but it's hard not to be reminded of the 90's behemoths as you listen to the dark, paranoid, peculiar new record that is WIXIW from the group who will be gracing the stage at Neumos on July 8th(Beck also pops to mind occasionally). Precise placement of electronic flourishes and churning basslines help cultivate a vibe that wouldn't be unlike what you'd expect when driving into a dark forest/crawling into a cave you found in your back yard/having a stressful acid trip.
