End Music Discovery: Green Day - "Kill The DJ"

Aug 13th | categories: Music

Green Day on the verge of unloading a trilogy of records on our ears, the first of which, ¡Uno! is due out Septmeber 25th. We've already heard lead single, "Oh Love" and now we get our 2nd taste (which tastes a lot like dancey brit rock) "Kill The DJ". Have a listen below to the next part of what Billy Joe is calling "the most prolific and creative time of our lives"....

If Franz Ferdinand sucked, this is what it would sound like.

I agree with Denver Crabb.

The live version is 1000 times better. The tempo is too slow and the auto-tune, though ironic and punny, is not what I want.

This is amazing & i can't wait to buy the album. Finally no political ballads, just fun with music.

I see they got the radio edit. This is the first time Green Day is releasing a clean/amended version of their music. If you go on iTunes, you can see there is a clean version, I'm assuming the version of Kill the DJ on here comes from there.

I am a huge Green Day fan but this really sucks!

I feel this comes from a DJ that is pre-recorded and only allows an hour of requests per weakday saying "we'll see what we can do" instead of "sorry our time is up" or "sorry, we don't have that song"

Heard this live at that Echoplex gig and it was so good then certain things here with this version are just not working. Its too complex I'd like to say.

Wow,this songs sucks. It's a rehash of the clash but with a touch of sillyness and a chorus that I normally hear on the Family channel on tv. Why?

Franz Ferdinand's copy FTW. It isn't bad but... this is not Green Day. Old neither new GD ...

this is the shi**y clean version. the explicit version drops 18 f-bombs. cutting out f**k 18 times obviously ruins the song

U guys don't understand, this song is self-referential... Someone shoot the DJ for putting on this track.

Class song, probably the best out of the 2 singles. :)
