Well this is just... perplexing on many levels. And not just because Pete Tong manages to talk all over the first verse (whoops) but really it confirms a lot of things we've known for a while, pop-punk was never really that punk to begin with and EDM is inescapable. Just saying that word, EDM makes me feel like I need to put a dollar in the swear jar. Anyway, it's not terribly surprising that Joel would draft the lead singer of MCR to guest on a track. By nature, the guy carries himself as more of a rocker than a DJ to begin with, and he's at that point where he's (at least attempting) to distance his brand from the Avicii's and Porter Robinsons of the world. So what better way than teaming up w/ a fairly off the map singer (lets be real here, that last MCR album didnt do much) with an often overlooked set of pipes to sing on.... a b-side? Ok, actually we're done trying to understand. Just have a listen below...
