End Music Discovery: Catpower - "Ruin"

Apparently Chan Marshall isn't depressed anymore. Or if she is, she certainly doesn't show it in her latest track, "Ruin" which reeks of charm and lives at a tempo far too upbeat to be anything on her past few records. The track also serves as an announcement for her new record "Sun" due out September. From a less objective standpoint, I honestly wasn't sure what to make of the thing at first, Catpower has become something of a friend in the low times, but perhaps this is a new chapter, the song is simply infectious, I dare you to find someone who hasn't listened to it over and over today (it doesn't hurt that it's been 6 years since her last album of original material). Additionally perhaps I'm reading too much into it, but will Chan be making her way to the NW soon? Stream the track below.
