Daft Punk Album Rumored to feature Pharrell + Not Playing Coachella

Mar 27th | categories: Music, Music News

Time for your daily Daft Punk update, todays being a mix of good and bad news. We'll start with the new rumor that Pharrell WIlliams, one half of legendary production duo The Neptunes (blame him for Slave For You and Hollaback Girl) as well as N.E.R.D. will be guesting on not one but 3 tracks from the new album. Now, the site propagating this isn't exactly a credible one, however, known collaborator and basically our portal to the Daft world, Nile Rodgers retweeted a link to the specific articlealluding that perhaps it is infact true. Either way we will know soon.

On the band news front, Daft are definitely NOT playing Coachella (though you'd think this was established when they wern't listed on the poster) shooting down rumors that flaired up yesterday after a date appeared on their Vevo account. Now mind you, Vevo gets that info from Song Kick which lists user generated content in the first place, essentially ruling itself out as a reliable source in the first place but hey, now there's an official statement and we know for sure officially. Get all the info on their forthcoming record, Random Access Memories, here.
