The Smashing Pumpkins Billy Corgan recently sat down with Mashable and announced that he'll have a big announcement at next weeks's South By Southwest Festival in Austin (we're still waiting for a band to announce the announcement for their big announcement)

Details for the "unique" distribtion of the new SP album "Oceania" will be revealed.

Corgan says it will be a “full online experience.” adding:

“Our aim is to turn the ‘social’ into a new way to experience an album,” Corgan told Mashable. “By taking the medium one step further we will create an experience with Oceania online and off-line that transcends the single and the single mentality in all ways.”

Billy's never been scared to try new/different things. Here's hoping the music of "Oceania" is as exciting and innovative as the way it's being released. We've learned to be cautious of announcements talking less about the content of what's being released (the actual music) and more on the way it's being released.
