Beer For Breakfast!
Writing blogs is hard after drinking beeeeeerz. Today on Beer for Breakfast we knocked out two 22's (and a bonus beer!). Nothing like getting fired up for Seattle Beer Week by drinking before 9am!
Six Degrees of Collaboration
This Seattle Beer Week IPA helps to celebrate six years of the festival by inviting six local breweries to each contribute hops, hop additions, malts, and house yeast strains. Put em all in a barrel, stir it up and... BEER! (that's how beer is made right? no?) At 6% abv, unlike other IPA's, I could easily drink a couple of these without the IPA stumbliness.
Pike Saison Houblon
A spring seasonal offered by the Seattle brewery, looking fresh in its Sonics colors, this puppy has some earthy/herbal taste. You get the hops, but for those that turn and run when they face our hoppy friend, this beer is nothing to be scared of. It's got that saison/belgian yeast funk which takes a sip or two for me to get past, but I went back for seconds to fully understand it. Pretty good!
As a bonus beer, we usually only tackle two, I had my buddy Garett seek out his favorite Mexican beer to drink for the upcoming Cinco de Mayo. It took him less than two seconds to identify that besides a cold tasty can of Tecate, a Bohemian would be his choice for Monday's holiday.
Have some beers this weekend, but remember, get home safely and don't drive drunk like a big dummy!
