Beer For Breakfast: Memorial Day Weekend BEEER!
It's no secret that we like our IPA's, but when it comes to goofing off outside at the BBQ or somewhere sunny (hopefully), drinking something with a little less octane isn't a bad call. Lagers and Pilsners are right in that wheelhouse. Also, if you're headed off camping this weekend, we chose beers that come in cans. Remember, pack in, pack out all your trash!
Silver City Brewery: Ziggy Zoggy Lager (Bremerton, WA)
Calling on traditional German beer brewing style, this lager is exactly what I want out of a lighter colored craft beer. Forgive my poor description skills, but this beer is breadier. There's a certain weight to it and without any sweetness, it's just a good, savory experience. Well, as savory as a lager gets ;)
Oskar Blues: Mama's Little Yella Pils (Longmont, CO)
It's a Pilsner, but totally different than anything else I've sampled from the pils world. There's something just a little floral in the back of my tongue when sipping this. It's incredibly easy to drink especially when cold. Plus, as my buddy Phil mentioned, stick a six pack of these cans in the river and they cool down quickly!
Have a safe and happy Memorial Day weekend, and get home safely.
